Trail alert | Trail Wide | There have been a number of snake sightings along various sections of the Rail Trail. Please take extra precautions, stay on the trail at all times, and keep an eye on where you step or rest. Keep dogs on a lead and children close by.

Trail alert | Trail Wide | It’s magpie season across the Northern Rivers, and swooping activity has been reported on several sections of the Rail Trail.
Please take extra care when travelling the trail during this time. Walkers should consider wearing sunglasses and a hat or carrying an umbrella. Riders must wear a helmet and consider attaching a flag to their bike. Give magpies plenty of space and avoid any known swooping areas. |

We have received reports of a magpie swooping between Rifle Range Road and Back Creek Bridge. This is seasonal nesting behaviour and usually short-lived. Please stay alert, give birds space, and take care while passing through. |

Trail hazards | Murwillumbah to Crabbes Creek (24 km) |
Commencing Monday 28 April, Cyclone Alfred clean-up works will begin along the Northern Rivers Rail Trail. Vehicles, including excavators and removal trucks, will be active on and around the trail for approximately four weeks. For your safety, please take extreme care near work sites, follow all signage and directions, and be aware of machinery operating in the area. |

Trail alert | Lismore |
As part of a broader project to upgrade 23 public toilets across the Lismore LGA, the toilet block at Lismore Railway Station will be demolished and replaced starting in May. A temporary toilet facility – including male, female and accessible amenities – will be available on-site from the end of April for public use until the upgrade is complete. We appreciate your understanding while this improvement takes place. |
